Influenster: Vox Box Surf's Up

Influenster is a website, which allows you to use your own social media to review products. You sign up for it, you can review products from different categories, and eventually when you have enough of a score from your activities in the website, it may qualify you for a Vox Box.

About two weeks ago, I got a pre-survey asking me to answer some questions in order to qualify me to review a Surfs Up Vox Box, I guess I had what they were looking for because I soon got another email saying they were going to send me the box.

I was surprised I got picked for a Vox Box since I sort of forgot that Influenster existed, although during winter, I got really bored, and I think I reviewed at least 200 different candy products on their website and some gamer products, so maybe that's why they chose me. Who knows, I'm not complaining.

This is the Surfs Up Box, I GOT IT FOR FREE FROM Influenster. I DID NOT PAY FOR THESE PRODUCTS, they were sent to me to give a fair review.

The first look at the box.
The info sheet that comes with the box stating the value of and what each product is.

First off, were two coupons for Jamba Juice Smoothie Kits. One is for a free package, and the other saves me a dollar on the smoothies.

I recently introduced my fiance to Jamba Juice because he LOVES milkshakes, and we wanted to find a healthier alternative to milkshakes, and I've always liked Jamba Juice.  We both like Jamba Juice, so I'm actually interested in buying the smoothie kit and the juice needed to make the smoothie. I may pick it up tomorrow, when I go to Kroger to buy the food I need to cook dinner for Justin's mom on Wednesday.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun lotion, this sample is worth $3.00.
My favorite summer activity is reading books on my kindle, at the pool. Justin and I also like frequent water parks like Wet & Wild or Schlitterbahn New Braufels/Galveston Island.  We're both pretty good at remembering to put on suntan lotion.

But, you spend a day at a water park, with all the walking around and the crazy water rides, we do sometimes get burned, so this is a product that will be very useful for us. I especially like how it's a travel size, so I can just throw it into my bag, and leave it in a locker, for times after a water park.

First Aid Shot Therapy, worth $3.00.

This product is "an FDA compliant liquid pain relief [drinkable] shot. Common uses for FAST are headache/migraine, sore muscles, back pain, and hangover headache."

I don't drink enough to get hungover, but I do get awful migraines, especially in summer, so next time I have a migraine, I'll try this to see if it works any better then my usual pill regime.

It probably tastes awful though.

Sinful Colors Nailpolish in Ocean Side, worth $2.00.

I've owned many Sinful Color polishes, in the past. For the low cost, they're very good value, and there's a huge variety of colors to choose from.
However, some of the colors do stain your nails yellow.

I've never tried this one, it is a pretty blue color though. It reminds me more of the sky though, not really ocean water.

Cover Girl Bombshell Curvaceous by Lashblast Mascara, worth $10.00.

I love mascara, especially seeing as I have nonexistent eyelashes.

This formula has two parts. The first part volumizes and curls your lashes, and the second part intensifies them.

I've owned lots of Cover Girl mascara, in the past, the original lashblast used to be my go to mascara for several years, and I was always pleased with the results.  I look forward to adding this to my mascara regimen.

I'm also happy I received the mascara as opposed to the other "hot ticket" item, which was a shampoo and conditioner combination.

So... I paid nothing, and got products worth $18.00, and unlike the last Vox Box I received, I'll probably use all the products in this one.

If you want to join Influenster, all you need to do is go to their website, sign up, connect it to social media, and review products, and then maybe you'll get your own Vox Box.

Or, I have 5 invites I've never used and I can invite you to join my team, which means our reviews and stuff would chain together, and we'd earn points together towards things like Vox Boxes and what not... If you're interested in that, just leave your email address, and I'll send an invite to you.

J'adore Vox Box

Note: I recieved all these products complimentary for testing purposes only. My opinions are my own, but I paid no money for this box or these products. I got them free.

Influenster is a website. It's free to join, or I have some invite codes somewhere, and can invite five of you to join my team, and the points we earn together can add to some prizes. Basically it's a website, where you join it, and you rate products you have used/had and write reviews on them. There are different categories that you can become a part of, and you can do different tasks that earn you more points.

When you've earned enough points, you can earn Vox boxes, which are free boxes, sent to you from Influenster, that you review products for. I was quite surprised, when I qualified for a free box. Though, there was that one night, when I was bored, when I went through the entire chocolate and candy category, and rated every single candy I had had before, so maybe that's what did it. Or maybe I'm just that bad-ass.

Once you qualify, you fill out a survey, and then if your answers are what they're looking for, you can get your Vox Box.

The Vox Box, that I received for free was the J'Adore Box.

This is my box.

This is the inside look of the box.
This is why I can never have nice things.

This is the handy dandy information card that comes with the box. It states that "I received this box complimentary for testing purposes and did not spend any money on it", as well as has a list of products that are included in the box, alongside prices, which is nice. It means much less google to do.

The first item makes me very happy. This chick LOVES chocolate. If it was between my fiance and chocolate, chocolate would win. I got a huge bag too. I got a family size bag worth $5.29. And believe me when I say, we can never have enough chocolate in our apartment.

John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray, worth $9.99. I love wearing my hair straight. I just literally don't have the time to straighten my hair. I wake up at 5:30 am, and before it's even 6:05 am, I'm out the door and on my way to school. My straightening iron has also gone AWOL. But I'm eager to try this. I haven't had much luck with any straightening product and my hair, so maybe this will be the miracle product that can finally leave my hair straight.

KISS Look's So Natural Lashes in Vamp, worth $3.99. I've never had an interest in false lashes, although I do use about four different mascaras in hope that my lashes will gain volume, so maybe false lashes are worth a try considering my klutzy self can get them on without gluing my eyes shut or something. Now... I just need to right occasion to wear them. Teaching 4 years olds for 7 hours certain isn't the right one.

Boots Botanic Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask, worth $9.39. Other than the chocolate [nom nom nom], this is the item I'm most excited about. It's a hypo-allergenic formula that absorbs excess oil and deeply cleanses skin.  I have HORRIBLY oily skin. Texas humidity doesn't help my skin either. I'm eager to see if this product can make my skin better.

Red Rose Simply Indulgent Tea, twenty cost about five dollars, each one is about .25 cents, so all four are worth a dollar. I do like tea, I prefer my Keurig K-Cups because I'm a lazy ass, but occasionally I drink real tea. I really like the four flavors they sent me, and I'm eager to try them. I also like that they're black tea. Black teas have a nice amount of caffeine, and I AM AN ADDICT. Just ask my students what happens when I don't have my coffee....

And that is my first ever Influenster Box. Once I actually use the lashes and such, I'll update a more updated review on it.

I paid nothing for this, I got it complimentary for writing reviews and grading products, and this box was free for my effort, and the total worth of product was $29.66, not too shabby.

So if you're interested, check out Influenster, and if you feel the urge to be a team player on TEAM LYSSA, let me know, I have five invites for anyone interested... because teamwork makes everything better :)
